Le Ble D'or: A Nostalgic Journey Through Time and Space

A Retro-Inspired Restaurant Design by Li Shou Hung and Frees Boss - Pinhau

The design team, after several discussions, utilized recycled iron pieces to implement visual effects filled with a sense of time. The emphasis was placed on joining the recycled iron pieces and veneer, creating a different visual effect with the same elements. The mottled beer bottle walls, recycled iron pieces, and large fake window guiding in the image of continuous oxidation to the indoor space resemble twisted space and time, giving one the illusion of traveling through space and time upon entering.

The realization of this design was achieved through an antique and retro spatial layout. Dark materials and the application of colors capture the delicate changes of lights and shadows, as if time stood still. The unspeakable heart-moving sensation leads to a close connection between space and people, allowing for overwhelming visual effects.

The design project, completed in May 2016 in Taoyuan City, balances the customer’s needs in all aspects with professional design skills to create the biggest efficacy within the demands, and further to convey true heart-moving feelings on top of the efficacy. The design team included Design Director Li Shou-Hong and Assistant Manager Jheng Cing-Fang.

Le Ble D'or is a design for an independent beer brand restaurant in Taiwan. The designers used innovative patchwork combinations and geometry to create a flat full with a sense of multi-level by 2.5D. They used a lot of iron fitting and a good image of the brand to create new visual experiences at the entrance and bar counter.

The design was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. The Golden A' Design Award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
